Mazda Taiki continues the evolution of the Nagare design theme, following in the footsteps of the Mazda Nagare, Mazda Ryuga, and Mazda Hakaze concept vehicles. As the fourth in the series, Mazda Taiki further advances and refines the theme through a fusion of the Nagare (flow) design concept and real-world technologies, such as a next-generation rotary engine and enhanced aerodynamic performance. Mazda Taiki sets a new ideal for the front-engine rear-drive sports car of the future.

Mazda Taiki concept showing at the 40th Tokyo Motor Show
Many people will be talking about one stand at this year’s 40th Tokyo Motor Show and that will be the Mazda one.
We all know that Mazda have been advertising their Zoom-Zoom image which is where the new Taiki concept comes in. The cab in this new concept has a backward design which then leads to those beautifully design flows of the rear wheels, these wheels are just about visible as they have been covered, these does look nice but I feel that it is more for the aerodynamics they looks.
The glass canopy makes you feel as if you are in a jet fighter, but many other concepts seem to be going for this design now. The Mazda Taiki concept has the engine at the front and is rear wheel drive, it is hoped that the engine used in the Mazda Taiki will be the Renesis rotary engine 16X. The Mazda Taiki concept really does look like a car that I could see on our roads, but we will just have to go and see it at the 40th Tokyo Motor Show for now.
